Having looked at the diary and with the intention of giving everyone as much time as possible to plan, I would like to suggest the Wed 10 March as the date for the Memorial event.

The venue will be Lakes as Marius mentioned that this is where Nico enjoyed playing with the forummers because so many pitched up.

The date is in the week between the Ladies and Men's Club Champs so the course will be immaculate and the guys from the South who make the groot trek up will be able to play on greens running at 11!

Let us see what the response is like.

It has been discussed off line already that the trophy on the day will be a "blue coolerbox", and hopefully the holders of the GDMT will be present so that my partner and I can challenge them - I have no idea who the current holders are??

I will also arrange a blue cooler box with Nico's photo on it as a small floating trophy that we can play for annually in his memory.

Anyone who has photo's of Nico, please send them to me and I will select the best one/one's and get it printed on the box.

I really want to be there and would like to see more of the South there as well. I have a golf day at De Zalse the 11th so need to ensure I am back in time. Playing with the wife, so if I am late the next memorial will be for parts of my anatomy! Shocked

Would suit me if the date changed but I will do my best to be there.

I have a few SAA Frequent Flyer miles that will expire end of March. Enough for a one-way flight within SA. I'll be happy to donate to anyone who wants to fly to the event.

You'll have to pay your own taxes though, which on SAA is usually steep. And you still need to buy a return ticket. But if it means someone can make the event and save a few bucks, I'll be happy to help.
